When you choose a site for your structure, you'll need to make sure that it's possible for a contractor or electrician to run electrical (and internet, if desired) connections to it. There will also need to be good access for delivery of your structure, as well as pad installation.
If you're not sure if your site has the necessary access, get in touch with us, and we'll be happy to help.
Where you place your structure will have a huge impact on how it fits into your property in the long term. While there's generally no definite right answer, there are some things to make sure you consider when deciding on a site.
You'll want to make sure you consider which direction light is generally coming from, what the view is, how the entrance will fit into your current landscape, and any natural features or obstacles you want to plan around.
There are two main types of pads to consider: a gravel pad, or a concrete slab.
Gravel pads should be 4-6" of 3/4" clean stone, leveled and compacted. You may choose to use sono-tube cement supports throughout, as well as building a perimeter wall to retain the gravel. Cement slabs should be 3-4" thick.
